Every year, athletes representing different disciplines are put in the foreground. Indeed, a lot of high level athletes see their performances being revealed to the public, allowing them to meet new sponsors, coaches dieteticians, and multiple other advantages.
As an example, in 1924, Richard Norris Williams, a high level tennisman, manages to get famous thanks to his surprising life journey. This tennis champion almost got forced to give his carrier up, inlcuding every single activity that would be a little physical. In april of 1912, he barely escapes the Titanic's sinking. Even after he was saved, he kept sequels from his accident, in particular on his legs, that didn't really handle the freezing water. Even if the health professionnals are telling him otherwise, Richard refuses the leg amputation operation they prescribed, that would result in his ending his sportive carrier erlier. However, he still gets out of this without any other issue, and can soon come back in the foreground of the tennis stage. In his carrier, this champion, whose passion got in front of his health, followed up the victoriess, the most famous one being his double mixed olympic victory, during the Olympic Games of Paris in 1924.
More recently, during Tokyo's Olympics in 2020, the american swimmer Michael Phelps won his most recent medal, and has become the athlete with the most medals in the history of the Olympics, with a total of 28 medals, 23 of them being gold ones, all of this between 2004 and 2020.
