Two big ennemies politics
Philippe Pétain was born on 24 April 1856 in Pas-de-Calais. In August 1914, Pétain became general. In February 1916 he took care of the Verdun defensive section and succeeded in pushing back the German troops with his strategy. He was appointed Marshal in November 1918, then Vice-President of the Senior Council of the War in 1920, and Inspector General of the Armies in 1922, Pétain continued his political life until 1944, and died in 1951 at the age of 95.
Guillaume II was born in Potsdam in 1859. He is the little son of William I of Germany, founder of the German Empire in 1871.He is the third and last German emperor and ninth king of Prussia. Guillaume II was a precursor to the first world war, pushing Austria to attack Serbia after the attack in Sarajevo.
