Mythology and philosophy in astronomy



During the major part of the History, all the big discoveries and advanced on the universe and the laws which govern it were often disputed by the religion. However, generally, more the theories were late discovered in time, less they were disputed. One of the biggest examples of contesting by the religion is the case of Galilee. Galilee, due to its discoveries and its contribution in the science, was considered as anti religion. It was forced to deny all its theories and to compromise its own discoveries.



A constellation is a grouping of stars which by our imagination evokes us a face which is often connected with the Greek mythology.
Constellation of big bear and of small bears have a link with a legend which says that Arcas and Callisto were transformed into bear by Zeus. The star which is situated at the end of the tail of small bear is the pole star. The pole star is important because she is always managed northward and also because she allows to indentifier the other constellations.






Cassiopée, Céphée and Andromède are constellations which are in connection with the legend which says that Cassiopée, Céphée and Andromène were attacked by Poseidon and then saved by Perseus. We reknow easily the constellation of Cassiopé because it has the form of one M or of one W in the sky, the constellation of Chéphée is next to that of Cassiopée. The constellation of Andromème shares a star with the constellation of Pegasus.

Perseus possesses a constellation on IT behalf easily recognizable because it has the shape of one Y in the sky.
