Little things that as to be told

The Insects

The insects are par of the animal class who repressent the biggest part in the animal biodiversity.(1.4 Billion of insects for one person according to the FAO) It's like this because we can found them everywhere, on earth as much as on water.

Their role

Most of the play a vital role in the ecosystem. In the food chain, they are recyclers. Why such a name ?
Because they feed themselves with organic waste which are debris of plants (dead leaves), cadavers and excrement of animals.
Also, they take care of pollination and allow flowers to reproduce

Why eat insects ?

Have you never thought about it ? Then why would you eat them ?

For their ease of access

As we said in the introduction, there's around 1,4 Billion of inscets per person, wich makes a haevy stock of food. In France, around 25 species are edibles with for exemple, cricket and flour worms. These insects are producted with other products by the 1st french breeding farm. She is named Micronutris and is located in Toulouse. Furthermore, this farm act as a "close circuit" wich means she is almost independent. In fact, crickets eats vegetable or fruits and the flour worms are feed with peelings. After, dejections and shells will be used as fertilizer to grow farming productions(corn, potato,...). With this, the loop is looped.

For their advantages ?

If we focus on Nutritional values of a cricket with these of a cow we obtain the following comparison :
For a cricket: 72% of protein ; 16% of fat ; 12% of calcium and 96 calorie per portion
For the cow: 52% of protein; 48% of fat
and 285 cal per portion.
So change your diet to start eating creeping may be a good investment for your body

For the planet ?

This type of production, the entomoculture, release 1000 times less greenhouse gas ,7 times less of agricultural products and 200 times less water than the cow breeding. For the space, insects can be raised in battery farming without problems on the meat quality. Wich means a considerable space saving .
