On the economic side, insects favor development. They also provide additional income opportunities for farmers of all sizes from emerging and devolved countries. And as opportunities do not fail, insects can still be turned into pasta or ground into flour, and their proteins can be extracted. Also, it is not very expensive. Moreover, by their small size we have to feed them in lesser consequence, so we must invest less for the production of insects. Finally, insects require much less water than conventional cattle breeding (pigs, cattle). Naturally collected and easy to harvest, natural collection, such as insect husbandry, can provide important strategies for diversifying livelihoods for the poor in developing countries. They also provide additional income opportunities for farmers of all sizes from emerging and developed countries.
