Circular Economy
The circular economy is an economic model aimed at producing responsibly while minimizing the consumption and waste of natural resources.
• It differs from the linear economy by seeking to "close the life cycle" of products, promoting reuse, repair, and recycling.
• This model contributes to the preservation of resources, reduction of waste, and sustainable development compatible with environmental, economic, and social challenges. It is the opposite of the linear economy, which is an economy where everything is thrown away and not recycled.
To develop in poor countries, the circular economy must adapt to the local poverty rate, hence the concept of local circular economy. It can also be "glocal," combining local and global levels to reach as many people as possible. However, it protects overexploited resources, which can lead to tensions and conflicts between populations.
